Learn Padel
From complete beginner to advanced player β everything you need to master the game.
Beginner's Guide
Everything you need to know to get started.
What is Padel?
Padel is a racket sport combining elements of tennis and squash. Played in doubles on an enclosed court with glass walls, it's the fastest-growing sport in the world. Easy to learn, incredibly fun, and wildly social.
Equipment Needed
All you need is a padel racket (no strings!), pressurized padel balls (similar to tennis balls but slightly less pressure), and court shoes with non-marking soles. Many clubs offer rental equipment for beginners.
Basic Shots
Master these fundamental shots: the Serve (underhand), Volley (net play, the bread and butter), Bandeja (overhead defensive shot), VΓbora (aggressive overhead with spin), and the Lob (high ball to push opponents back).
Court Positioning
In padel, positioning is everything. The team at the net controls the point. Move together with your partner, cover your half, and use the back glass walls to return shots that seem impossible.
Drills & Technique
Structured practice to level up your game.
Wall Practice
Hit against the back wall to develop control, timing, and comfort with glass rebounds. Start slow, build consistency.
Serve Consistency
Practice underhand serves targeting different zones. Focus on placement over power β a well-placed serve wins easy points.
Volley Drills
Partner rally at the net focusing on soft hands and control. Practice forehand and backhand volleys alternating.
Bandeja Practice
The most important overhead shot in padel. Practice the slicing motion to keep the ball low after the bounce.
VΓbora Mastery
Develop the aggressive topspin overhead. Requires wrist snap and precise timing. A weapon at the pro level.
Point Construction
Full-point simulation drills. Practice moving opponents around the court and finishing at the net with a winning volley.
